3.5 Perform and analyse dose verification measurements in a phantom to ascertain accuracy and acceptability of a treatment plan
  1. Participate in an existing programme of patient dose verification.
  2. Review, critique and make recommendations for the program for patient dose verification.
  3. Transfer the beam configurations of specific patient treatment plans to an appropriate phantom, measure absolute dose at selected points of interest and compare results to calculated doses. Repeat for a selection of representative treatment sites.
  4. List the decision making process behind acceptance and rejection of such treatment plans.
  5. Understand and use quantitative methods to describe the degree of compliance by using tolerance and/or action levels, e.g. the Gamma-Index method
